Mt. Rubidioux

Last week, a few of us girls went on an adventure. We decided to conquer Mt. Rubidoux, which is about 15 minutes away from CBU. We tried to reach the top before sunset but didn’t quite make it. We still saw a beautiful sky and had a great time!

Although the mountain wasn’t that high, and many people climb it everyday, I was filled with so much adrenaline trying to get to the top as fast I could to see the beautiful sunset that God was painting! Getting to the top felt so amazing, and I was in awe at the handiwork of Christ. In my Christian Doctrine class we talked about “general revelation” and how God reveals himself to all people at all places in all ways through the human conscience and CREATION. I was awestruck at His creation standing on Mt. Rubidoux. How can people not believe that there is a God after seeing what I saw? Granted, not everyone gets to see such a spectacular view that often, but even without looking at creation (which is evident EVERYWHERE), there is a place in everyone that can ONLY be filled by God. It’s how He made us. Our human conscience may not know exactly what that empty space is, but Christ is waiting ever so prepared to fill it with His saving grace.

Another thought I had while standing on Mt. Rubidoux looking down on Riverside was that life may seem so busy, crazy, scary, unknown, and tiring sometimes when we are standing in the middle of it. I realized how refreshing it was to stand “above” life as it was happening below me, just reflecting on the bigger picture, and that from above, things don’t look as bad, and the air is a little more fresh at such a perspective 🙂
